Color Renovation ... A.K.A... CHANGE!!

Has it really been almost 2 months since I posted on my blog??  Golly, where does the time go??  I guess I've been having lot's of fun, fun, fun- because the time sure has been flying by!!    Then again, we didn't have 2 monumental rain storms since March 14th... Easter... 3 family birthday for me... a school vacation... and a scrapbooking getaway weekend for me and my closest Scrappin' buddies... so yeah, I guess you could say I was mostly having a BLAST!!   Oh yeah, and my 6 yr old started playing on her first softball team, so we've had lot's of practice to do!!

Ok, now to update you on some very important Stamping News!!  Have you heard about the color changes coming up on July 1, 2010 with Stampin' Up!?  The new catalog is going to be so exciting with lot's of new colors to choose from!!

Before I go, I want to share a card with you.  (I don't think I've posted this before??)

The polka dot designer paper is from The Pink Flamingo package.  Birthday cake is from Bitty Birthday and I colored it with markers: Pretty In Pink, Certainly Celery and "decorated" with turquoise glitter from the Fine Cosmo Glitter collection.  I hope you like it!

  

Egg-cellent Cards on a Rainy Day!

Thank you to the wonderful women who braved the New England Rain Storm today to stamp some fun all occasion and  "Egg-cellent" Cards with me!!  We stamped 2 each of 4 different cards, and here are 2 of my favorites:

 

STAMPS:  Loads of Love Accessories, Hostess Level 2 picnic set from Occasions Mini Catalog

INK:  Orchid Opulence, close to cocoa, Stampin' Write Markers:  Barely Banana, Orchid Opulence, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery

CARDSTOCK:  Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Shades of Spring Designer Series Paper

ACCESSORIES:  White organza ribbon, smal and large tag punches, rectangle punch, scallop edge border

THis card actually doesn't involve much stamping- other than the greeting- and I always let my friends choose the greeting they need:  Get well soon, Thinking of You, Birthday Wishes... this card really serves all occasions!

The white layer was made with the TOP NOTE BIGZ Sizzix Die exclusive to Stampin' Up!  and the 3 layer flower is from the Birds and Blooms Sizzlit 4 pack , which is fun to make with any color combo!  I finished it off with a center brad from the Rich Regals assortment.

Shades of Spring Designer Paper & 40 Fast Cards!

These are some of my favorite quick cards I made recently.   I used our Shades of Spring Designer paper on a few of them... you'll find this new paper ONLY in our Occasions Mini Catalog- available now through April 30th!   Also, don't forget you get a free stamp set with every $50 order right now... Scallop punch and 1 3/8" circle punch also used with THINK HAPPY THOUGHTS stamp set.

This side fold card is adorable!!  2 strips of Designer Series Paper, a little tearing and "love you much" from the whimsical words stamp set- also found in our Occasions Mini Catalog.

 

Certainly Celery is my favorite color- and this sheet of Designer Series Paper from the Shades of Spring set is not exception.  Why?  Because it is perfect to use with any feminine floral stamps, yet suddenly takes on a masculine feel when paired with any shade of Blue.  Here I used a 1/4" strip of Night of Navy Cardstock, and more whimsical words!

WANTED: Cracked Glass

WANTED: Cracked Glass?   What's that title all about?  I'm so excited to share this technique at my next class on Feb 21 and 22.  We are using the "Wanted" stamp set with the horse and western theme and Glassy Glaze Embossing Enamel.  This is a bit thicker than your usual Embossing Powder, and once you've layered it on a couple times, just pop it in the freezer and CRACK!  You'll get a cool (no pun intended!) cracked glass image.  I used Confetti White for this base card, Chocolate Chip strip of cardstock across the middle and stamped the images in CC ink... The "Happy Birthday" greeting is from the Happy Everything Stamp Set--- which you can choose for FREE with any $50 order right now!!

Think Happy Thoughts - Boys Birthday

The girls don't get invited to A LOT of boys birthday parties, but I do have 2 nephews... so I was adding some boy birthday cards to my stash the other day.  I got this layout from a recent Stampin' Discuss Monthly publication that is sent to all Demonstrators.   I LOVE IT!

The basic sketch is to take a 3"x3" square of designer paper, layered on a coordinating 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" cardstock and centered on a standard card.  The paper I used is long ago retired- I think it might have been from a Scrappin' Kit (sorry... details escape me right now), but I can tell you the colors:  Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Brilliant Blue and Wild Wasabi (Which WAS one of our previous IN COLOR's... but can be substituted with Garden Green in a pinch!!) 

The ribbon is bashful blue striped grosgrain, and I used hemp twine to tie the circle embellishment to the ribbon.  "Happy Birthday" is another one of my favorites from "THINK HAPPY THOUGHTS" Stamp set.  The star is from "WANTED" Stamp set... I really should use this more often for boys cards-- it calls for western, cowboy, rough & tumble cards!!  Notice how the star stands off the center a bit- I used the ever-popular DIMENSIONAL to give it a lift... just the right touch- don'tcha think??

Bitty Birthday - Girls Card

With 2 daughters, we can never have TOO many girl-y birthday cards on hand!  This one was made with the Bitty Birthday Stamp Set- that layer cake is perfect to color with our Marvelous Markers and EVERYTHING Looks better with Dazzling Diamonds glitter, doesn't it?!

Colors used:  Orchid Opulence, Pink Passion and Green Galore.  Yo Yo Yellow for candles.

Circle punches: 1/2"   3/4"  and 1"
